June book club left unfinished and next steps
For those who attempted to attend our June 27th book club with author Henry Kisor, thank you! (And a special thank you to Henry Kisor for braving the chaos as we tried to figure things out!) Various connection and technical difficulties created a perfect storm that resulted in a late start and an abrupt end early on and eventually we decided to scrap the book club on Tuesday.
As it stands now, the book club is deciding what to do. We may just end up distributing the Questions and Answers document to those who were planning to attend the book club with Henry Kisor (and those on the book club email list). The document has all the questions submitted by the book club and Henry’s answers. Henry has given permission for us to send a PDF of the document to the book club. If you have additional questions for Henry, please email them within the next few days to Laura social@hlaatc.org
The next book club is on Tuesday, July 25th at 7:00 pm (Central Time). It is a discussion with SPECIAL GUEST author Georgina Kleege on her book: “Blind Rage: Letters to Helen Keller” by Georgina Kleege [Register here to receive a Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYpdeGhqjIpGt2FeJz6Y5UjHszzXei9-zgk#/registration].
Thank you again everyone for your understanding about June’s book club. We are taking steps to make sure we have less chance of another technological perfect storm! After all, summer is the perfect time to curl up with a book (on the beach… not in a storm)!
