Letter From The HLAA-TC Board

Hello Friends of HLAATC –

This is urgent and important.  The Twin Cities chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAATC) is in serious need of volunteer assistance.  If volunteers do not step forward soon, the TC Chapter will have no choice but to cease operations.

WHAT’S HAPPENING:  After generously serving for many years, several HLAATC board members, officers and other volunteers have recently stepped down.  There’s nothing unusual about that.  Some of the board members and volunteers moved away.  Others simply no longer have the time to volunteer their services.  Unfortunately, only four board members remain and we need a lot of help to keep the chapter going.

WHAT’S NEEDED:  Several additional volunteer board members – including someone to serve as acting president of the board.  The new board members – and others – are needed to assist with 1) Website oversight, 2) Monthly chapter meeting coordination, 3) Monthly newsletter distribution, 4) Social media oversight, 5) Membership growth strategies, and our annual Walk4Hearing event (Saturday, May 16).

WHAT YOU CAN DO:  Please plan to attend a meeting at the Courage Kenny Rehab Center in Golden Valley, Saturday, April 18, beginning at 9:30am.  (3915 Golden Valley Rd, Minneapolis, MN 55422, 2nd Floor Board room, as usual).  We will do our best to answer all questions and we are eager to hear suggestions about how the chapter could better serve our members.  A special guest speaker will also give a presentation and food and beverages will be served.  Please RSVP to info@hlaatc.org if you plan to attend the meeting

IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND THE MEETING, BUT YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP:  Please contact us at info@hlaatc.org and briefly tell us what assistance you might be willing to provide.

Thank you very much,
