A reminder: The HLAA-TC Virtual Book Club is TODAY, Thursday, November 4th from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm (Central Time). We will be discussing “Invisible: My Journey Through Vision and Hearing Loss” by Ruth Silver. We will be joined by two special guests who knew and worked with Ruth Silver. Our guests are Joan Schneider, Executive Director of Center for Deaf-Blind Persons and Dannette “Dani” Kaslow. Dani also works for the Center for Deaf-Blind Persons as a Specialist in Deaf-Blindness/Assistive Technology Professional. Both Joan and Dani have worked for the Center for Deaf-Blind Persons for years and also knew and worked with Ruth Silver (the author of our book and the founder of the Center for Deaf-Blind Persons, Inc.). Additionally, Dani assisted Ruth with the book! Both women will be joining us for our discussion and will be ready to answer questions. Since we are alternating between fiction and nonfiction each month for our book selections next month will be a fiction book that we haven’t determined yet. We will announce on this blog and social media (Facebook, Facebook Group, and LinkedIn) when we have chosen the next book and date and time for the December meeting.
